SoCal Safety Institute offers American Red Cross certification courses in CPR/AED, First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers (CPRO), Lifeguard Certification, Lifeguard Recertification, and select instructor-level training programs.
Our courses are designed for students, parents, teachers, coaches, healthcare workers, workplace responders, lifeguards, aquatic staff, and community members who want to be prepared to respond in an emergency. Students receive clear instruction, hands-on practice, and training aligned with American Red Cross standards.

Yes. SoCal Safety Institute offers American Red Cross Lifeguard Recertification courses for eligible lifeguards who need to renew their certification.
Participants must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification or one that is no more than 30 days expired by the end of the course. Students should bring proof of certification and be prepared for a faster-paced review and skills evaluation.

SoCal Safety Institute provides safety consulting services for schools, aquatic facilities, recreation programs, youth organizations, workplaces, and community groups throughout Ventura, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara Counties.
Consulting services may include Emergency Action Plan review, aquatic safety planning, staff in-service training, lifeguard skill refreshers, CPR/AED readiness, operational safety evaluations, response-system improvement, and drowning prevention planning. Our goal is to help organizations identify safety gaps, improve staff confidence, and build a stronger culture of preparedness.

BLS, or Basic Life Support, is designed for healthcare providers, healthcare students, EMT students, dental professionals, and professional responders. CPRO, or CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, is commonly used for lifeguards, aquatic staff, public safety personnel, and rescuers who may respond in higher-risk environments.

Yes. SoCal Safety Institute offers American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers, healthcare students, EMT students, clinical staff, dental professionals, and other professional responders.
BLS training focuses on high-quality CPR, AED use, breathing emergencies, team-based response, and professional-level emergency care skills. Students should choose BLS when their employer, school, clinical program, or healthcare role specifically requires Basic Life Support.

Yes. SoCal Safety Institute offers CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, also known as CPRO.
CPRO is commonly required for lifeguards, aquatic staff, swim instructors, camp staff, public safety personnel, and professional rescuers. This course is different from basic CPR/AED because it focuses on the responsibilities and skills used by trained rescuers in professional response settings.

Yes. SoCal Safety Institute offers American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification for eligible participants who want to become certified lifeguards.
Lifeguard training includes water rescue skills, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers, First Aid, emergency response, surveillance, and professional lifeguard responsibilities. Participants must meet course prerequisites and successfully complete all required skills and evaluations.

When online coursework is required, students must complete it before attending the in-person portion of class. This allows the in-person session to focus on hands-on skills practice, instructor feedback, and required skill evaluations.

Depending on the course, students may practice CPR, AED use, First Aid skills, breathing emergency care, water rescue skills, lifeguard response, or team-based emergency response. The goal is for students to leave prepared, not just certified.

The right course depends on why you need certification.

After successful course completion, SoCal Safety Institute will process your American Red Cross certification within 72 hours.
