AP-HSSSFA415R-r.25 Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Recertification
SoCal Safety Institute’s American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Recertification course is designed for teachers, coaches, childcare providers, workplace professionals, parents, and community responders in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County, Los Angeles County, and surrounding Southern California communities.
This in-person First Aid/CPR/AED renewal course reviews and evaluates the adult, child, and infant first aid, CPR, and AED skills needed to respond with confidence during common medical, injury, and cardiac emergencies.
This faster-paced recertification course is intended for participants who already have First Aid/CPR/AED training experience and are prepared to complete a shorter skills review and evaluation session.
There is no online learning portion for this recertification class.

Students review and demonstrate skills in:
Adult, child, and infant CPR
AED use
First aid for sudden illness
First aid for injuries
Bleeding control
Choking response
Breathing and cardiac emergency care
Recognizing and responding to emergency situations
Calling 911 and activating emergency action steps
Hands-on emergency response skills
Who Should Take This Course
This American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course is ideal for participants who need to renew their Basic Life Support certification.
Participants must:
Hold a current American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
or
Hold an American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification that will be no more than 30 days expired by the end of the course
Be prepared for a faster-paced skills review and evaluation
Bring proof of current or eligible recently expired BLS certification
Successfully demonstrate BLS skills to American Red Cross standards
Participants who are new to First Aid/CPR/AED, whose certification is expired beyond the eligible renewal period, or who want additional practice time should register for the full Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification course instead.

SoCal Safety Institute offers this course as an in-person American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Recertification class.
1.5-hour in-person First Aid/CPR/AED Recertification session
Please plan to be available for the full scheduled time. Class may run longer if needed to ensure all course material, skills, evaluations, and any pre-arranged accommodations are completed properly.

BEFORE YOU REGISTER
This American Red Cross BLS Recertification course is designed for participants who already have BLS training experience and are prepared to demonstrate skills to American Red Cross standards.
This American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Recertification course is designed for participants who already have First Aid/CPR/AED training experience and are prepared to demonstrate skills to American Red Cross standards.
Before attending the in-person First Aid/CPR/AED Recertification class, each participant must:
Hold a current or eligible recently expired American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Bring proof of current or eligible recently expired First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Bring a valid photo ID or school ID
Be prepared for a faster-paced review and skills evaluation
Participate in hands-on first aid, CPR, and AED skills practice
Successfully complete all required course skills and evaluations
Understand that this is a renewal course, not a full introductory First Aid/CPR/AED class
Students who are new to First Aid/CPR/AED, uncomfortable with CPR/AED or first aid skills, or need additional instruction should register for the full Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification course.
IMPORTANT REGISTRATION NOTICE
Registering for the First Aid/CPR/AED Recertification course does not guarantee certification.
To renew certification, students must:
Meet the eligibility requirements for First Aid/CPR/AED recertification
Attend the full in-person recertification class
Successfully complete all required course skills
Pass all required final evaluations
Students who do not meet the eligibility requirements, do not bring proof of current or eligible recently expired First Aid/CPR/AED certification, do not pass required skills or evaluations, or do not meet course requirements are not eligible for certification or refund.
Students whose First Aid/CPR/AED certification is expired beyond the eligible renewal period should register for the full Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification course.
Refund & Transfer Policy
All course registrations are non-refundable once booked.
By registering, students acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to this refund and transfer policy.
Students may request a one-time transfer to another available BLS class with at least 48 hours’ notice before the original class start time.
A $50 transfer fee applies to approved transfers.
Students who no-show, do not complete the online learning, do not pass required skills or evaluations, or do not meet course requirements are not eligible for a refund.
Students who do not request a transfer at least 48 hours before class will forfeit their registration and must pay the full course fee to register for a new class.
There are no exceptions to this policy, including illness, injury, medical reasons, scheduling conflicts, transportation issues, or personal emergencies.
Learning Accommodations
SoCal Safety Institute follows American Red Cross course standards and supports reasonable learning accommodations when possible.
Participants who need a learning accommodation should contact SoCal Safety Institute before registering or as early as possible before class so we can review the request.
Accommodations may support access to learning, but all participants must still successfully complete the required American Red Cross course skills, written exams, and final evaluations to be eligible for certification.
