$195.00

A young woman lifeguard, carrying a red cross medical bag, wearing lifeguard sunglasses, a visor, and hip-pack.

Course Overview: SoCal Safety Institute’s American Red Cross Lifeguarding course uses a blended learning format that combines flexible online instruction with in-person pool training. Built on the Red Cross core program, it prepares entry-level participants to “prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies,” while also developing the skills to care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS arrives. At SoCal Safety Institute, we bring that training to life through energetic coaching, clear demonstrations, hands-on repetition, and scenario-based teaching that keeps students engaged and confident from start to finish.

Skills Covered: Students develop the knowledge and skills needed for patron surveillance, water rescues, extrications, CPR/AED, First Aid, teamwork, communication, and real-world emergency response around the water.

Who Should Take This Course: Ideal for aspiring professional lifeguards who need American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Participants must be at least 15 years old by the last day of class and must pass the required pre-course swimming skills evaluation before training begins.

Course Length: SoCal Safety Institute offers this course in the American Red Cross blended learning format, with approximately 7.5 hours online and 19.5 hours in person, giving students flexibility online and focused, hands-on pool time in class.
