Course Overview: SoCal Safety Institute’s American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor course prepares experienced lifeguards to teach Red Cross Lifeguarding programs. Offered in a blended learning format, the course combines online training with in-person instruction focused on teaching skills, skill evaluation, class management, and professional course delivery.
Skills Covered: Students learn how to teach course content, demonstrate and evaluate lifeguarding skills, lead practice sessions, manage class flow, and uphold Red Cross program standards.
Who Should Take This Course: Ideal for currently certified lifeguards who are ready to become American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructors.
Course Length: This blended learning course includes 5 hours of online course work and a 2 days of in-person training.

BEFORE YOU REGISTER
Candidates must be at least 17 years old, hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification, complete the required online training before the first day of class, and be able to demonstrate lifeguarding skills to Red Cross standards.
